Printing guide

Preview before printing so every coloring page fits neatly on the paper.

Basic steps

  1. From the gallery, open a picture and download the PDF.
  2. Open the file in a browser or PDF reader.
  3. Choose Print, press Ctrl+P, or use Cmd+P on a Mac.
  4. Check the printer, paper size, and print preview.
  5. Print one copy first, then make more if it looks right.

Print settings

Recommended settings

  • Paper: A4 (210 × 297 mm). Use scaling for Letter paper.
  • Color: Print black-and-white outlines in grayscale.
  • Quality: Start with standard quality and increase it if lines look faint.
  • Orientation: Portrait usually works best; check the preview.
  • Scaling: “Fit to page” helps prevent printer margins from cropping the picture.

Paper types

  • Regular copy paper: Good for everyday crayon or colored-pencil practice.
  • Thicker paper: Less likely to wrinkle with markers. Check what thickness your printer supports.
  • Watercolor paper: Use only if your printer supports it; do not force thick paper through.

Tips for the best result

Before printing

✅ Check ink and paper ✅ Preview the whole page ✅ Turn off unnecessary headers and footers ✅ Print one test copy

Troubleshooting

Lines are too faint

  • Check ink or toner levels.
  • Increase print quality and try again.
  • Run a nozzle check or cleaning cycle according to your printer instructions.

The picture is cropped

  • Match the selected paper size to the paper in the printer.
  • Select “Fit to page.”
  • Check orientation and print margins.

Ink smears or bleeds through

  • Use paper suitable for your printer and art materials.
  • Let the ink dry before coloring.
  • Place scrap paper underneath to protect the table.

Save ink

💡 Print line art in black and white. Draft mode can save ink, but first check that the lines stay clear.

Print thoughtfully

🌱 Print only the pages you plan to use. Save test sheets for color experiments, or choose recycled paper your printer supports.

Printing from a phone or tablet

On a phone or tablet:

  1. Download the PDF to your device.
  2. Open it in a PDF reader.
  3. Choose Print from the share menu or toolbar.
  4. Select a compatible wireless printer, review the preview, and print.
